Dr Navin Naidoo

Medical Director & General Practitioner

South African-born and medically trained, Dr Naidoo is no stranger to adversity and challenge. After his initial training, he travelled and worked widely in Great Britain before heading home with his new wife, Sandra, to set up a GP surgery.

This surgery ran for 10 years and served a diverse patient base in the heart of Pretoria. Due to the political climate and the ever-present challenges of South African life, it was decided that the family would relocate to Australia.

Since arriving in Gympie in 2008, Dr Naidoo has worked in both the hospital setting and general practice.

He is now branching into an area where he believes there is still important work to be done.

Sandra Naidoo

Practice Manager

Brought up on a farm in the heart of rural Great Britain, Sandra trained as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) in the local hospital. After qualifying, theatre called, and two years in a busy theatre suite gave invaluable experience before Sandra made the move to the Orthopaedics and Trauma ward. Practising in a high-energy and challenging setting in a senior position for 10 years gave Sandra the skills and resilience for her next move – to South Africa.

Being married to a doctor brought its own challenges in a new country, but together they built the surgery up from an empty shop into a thriving practice with a large and diverse patient base. As Practice Manager, Sandra moulded the surgery into a place for education and support.

The move to Australia in 2008 changed everything. With three children in school and no family or close support network nearby, Sandra became the strong base for the family. Now that the boys are all independent, the time feels right to begin this exciting new project.
